Meet the Maker

Recently, I (Amelia) had the pleasure of working with the amazingly talented Lizzie Day Photographs for a ‘Meet the Maker’ photoshoot to give you a peek inside our workshop, and to learn a little more about who’s behind the fragrance..

So, this is me! Amelia, mum of 2 (and also a brand new Labrador pup!). Some things you may not know about me? I'm slightly obsessed with running (you'll possibly see me dashing around St Neots several times a week), I’m addicted to chocolate and some random facts about me are: I have a Maths degree, love swimming, and have lived in Switzerland and New York.

I’m just one half of Sensory Philosophy though, along with my fantastic mother-in-law Michèle. We've always shared a love of home fragrance, pure ingredients and value our relationships with friends, family, colleagues (and with those who we are yet to meet!) Creating Sensory Philosophy together in 2019 felt like a natural progression.

We share the making of our scented soy wax candles, reed diffusers, cotton face masks and essential oil bath salts... with each product made to order, by hand.

It is our aim to create sustainable, yet luxurious products. We offer unique refill services for our candles, reed diffusers and bath salts (so you can reuse your jars again and again!) Where possible, our jars and packaging are recyclable and reusable.. we’ve seen our jars used as pen holders, vases, to store cotton pads, or as plant pots!

Michèle and I are both now based in the UK (we are still buzzing from Michèle's recent relocation to the UK from the South of France!). We’ve been bouncing around new, refreshing ideas and thinking about what comes next for SP.

We are so grateful for all of the amazing support each and every one of our customers has given us throughout our journey so far, and look forward to what comes next. New products, collaborations, and excitingly - Farmers Markets (with our first happening this summer, yippee!!)

Thank you for being there with us x x
